Medivet

A special and effective shampoo for serious scaly conditions and itching in animals.

Both these components act against overgrown skin microflora. Medivet is effective in the supportive therapy of fungal, yeast and secondary bacterial infections of the skin causing itchy and scaly skin, for example in atopic patients.

The transformation of the yeast Malassezia from a saprophyte to a dangerous pathogen is one of the key causes of the formation and development of scaly and itchy skin in animals. Increased dampness of the skin, the occurrence of other skin disorders, keratinization defects, changes in the host's defense system, atopy, food hypersensitivity, disorders of the endocrine glands, and increased production of sebum might also play a role. Some authors report that Malassezia canis multiplies more easily in the presence of Staphylococci and grows well in association with other bacteria. The presence of malassezia activates the host's immune reaction and results in epidermal inflammation and damage to the epidermal water barrier. This leads to increased skin surface humidity, which further contributes to the excessive multiplication of yeasts.

Preparation: shampoo

Instructions for use: Wet your pet's fur with lukewarm water. Rub Medivet shampoo into the skin. Let the shampoo work for 10–15 minutes, then rinse the fur with water and dry it well. Apply the shampoo 2 to 3 times a week for 4 to 6 weeks. Thereafter, use the shampoo once weekly as prevention.
